We assist the USAPIJs get HPSA scores in order to qualify for health resources and services from HRSA. A HPSA designation score indicates the shortage of health care providers in primary, dental and mental health. The score ranges from 0 - 25 for primary and mental health and 0 - 26 for dental health. The higher the HPSA score, the more shortages of providers there are in an area.
We assist the USAPIJs get MUAP scores in order to qualify for health resources and services from HRSA. A MUA or MUP designation score indicates the inadequacy of primary health care available in an area or a population. The score ranges from 0 - 100. MUA or MUP designation (also known as Index of Medical Underservice, IMU) is given to an area if the IMU score is less than or equal to 62. The lower the IMU, the more medically underserved an area or a population is and likely to qualify for Federally-Qualified Health Center resources.
We assist facilities or clinics in HPSA designated areas to recruit and employ NHSC primary care providers.
