Qualifying Medically Underserved Communities with the Index

A MUA or MUP designation score indicates the inadequacy of primary health care available in an area or a population. The score ranges from 0 to100.  MUA or MUP designation (also known as Index of Medical Underservice, IMU) is given to an area if the IMU score is less than or equal to 62. (MUA Factsheet)
